What is an engagment session, you ask?

Couples ask me if it's important to have an engagement session in their wedding photography package. I think that is so important that I include it in every package. These photographs and the experience associated with the session will prove invaluable before, during, and after the wedding.
During the engagement session I'll also gain a better insight of your personalities, expressions, and how the couple relates to one other. Posing for photographs so that you'll always be seen at your best is also part of the session. The session is designed to get to know the couple’s character and just plain having fun with your partner and your photographer…..Thanks DBP

Peterson's: Family Photo Session

Rollergirlz!

On Saturday night I got to experience something that I have never before...shooting Roller Derby! What a blast! Serious Fun, awesome atmosphere, and lots of entertainment! My assistant and I took to the game, match, bout, whatever you call it, and shot a few pics, here is one, there will be more on the way!

Jan: Senior Photo Shoot

Jan and I met at Great Bear (Ski Area East of Sioux Falls) to take his senior photos...it was cold and windy, but we got it done! Lots of snow and lots of different metering...snow can cause a little havoc. 18% gray, yah right, just added a little exposure compensation and worked with the white balance! Had a great time Jan! Matt

Mariah: One Indoor Portrait

Hi Mariah- Here is one of your portraits...hopefully you got the contact sheet of the whole shoot! Having an indoor studio is imminent in South Dakota...Not only do I love photography, but I love the creativity I have with indoor lights and trying new things. This was also shot with the new 5D!
